THUSA Dynamics managing director
Tharun Pillay is a Software Engineer by training and holds a Bachelors Degree in Computer Science from UNISA. He has been awarded distinctions in computer science and mathematics by the faculty of Science, Technology and Engineering at final year level. Prior to completing his degree however, his passions saw him pursue technical qualifications from Microsoft Corp. as a Microsoft Certified Professional, and later as a Microsoft Certified Solution Developer.
Tharun's technical focus lies in large scale software engineering projects undertaken for clients such as contractors to the South African Department of Defense, major players in the global digital security industry, and the travel technology sectors to name a few. Such projects generally involve mathematical modelling, low level hardware-software architecture and worldwide data distribution and synchronisation. Tharun has assisted on engineering research projects where he has lent his knowledge of numerical analysis to control systems involving optimisation of real-time output extrapolation from collected live sensor data.
Prior to joining THUSA Group, Tharun initiated a start-up software business. In the summer of 2010, both he and Carl Petzer (both former classmates) saw the potential for a broadly beneficial relationship through the merger of assets. THUSA Dynamics was born out of the marriage of THUSA's then software department with Tharun's start-up. The company has achieved healthy growth which can in part be attributed to its reputation for delivering quality software products, timeously. Tharun Pillay is the Managing Director of THUSA Dynamics and oversee's day-to-day operations.
